Proper Fraction 2.0, a great InDesign script from Dan Rodney for quickly and easily formatting fractions in InDesign.

Compose, a free script from Peter Kahrel for InDesign CS3 and CS4 that makes entering characters with diacritics and "unusual" characters quick and easy.

The InDesignSecrets Guide to Special Characters in Adobe InDesign, a nice PDF reference to all the hidden characters and markers that show up in InDesign.

Typography Primer, a concise 20 page PDF from Adobe explaining some of the basics of Typography.

Three recommended typography books: The Elements of Typographic Style (Bringhurst), The Complete Manual of Typography (Felici), InDesign Type: Professional Typography with Adobe InDesign CS2 (French).

The GREPGrokker is an InDesign GREP simulator that can be helpful for learning GREP.

Converting QuarkXPress and PageMaker files to InDesign
